Michael M Pompian, CFA, CAIA, CFP
Michael is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer. He was formerly a Partner at Mercer Investment Consulting for 10 years, and was the National Segment Leader for the private wealth business.He consulted to the firm’s largest family office clients and was responsible for overseeing $8 billion. Prior to joining Mercer, Michael was a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch and a private banker with PNC Private Bank.
Prior to these positions, Michael was on the investment staff of a family office. Michael earned his MBA in Finance from Tulane University and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS degree in Management. Michael has written four books: Advising Ultra Affluent Clients and Family Offices (Wiley 2009), Behavioral Finance and Wealth Management (Wiley 2006), Behavioral Finance and Wealth Management 2nd Edition (Wiley 2012) and Behavioral Investor Types (Wiley 2013).He writes a monthly column for Morningstar Advisor and has been quoted in Money Magazine, The New York Times, and other media outlets including Bloomberg and CNBC.Michael holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Trust Financial Advisor (CTFA). He is a member of the CFA Institute, the New York Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA) and the CFA Society of St. Louis. He is a regular speaker at family office conferences globally.
Jack Dwyer, CFA, CAIA
Jack is the Managing Director of Sunpointe Investments.Jack works with both family offices and foundations on investment policy creation, asset allocation, and investment manager selection. Prior to joining Sunpointe, Jack consulted to family offices for over 10 years at Hammond Associates and Mercer.Jack previously traded Municipal and Corporate bonds for five years at A.G. Edwards.As a member of the US Army National Guard, he commanded a 184-person Engineer Bridge Company deployed to Tallil, Iraq during 2004-2005.
Jack graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Finance and Business Economics and earned an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. Jack has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of St. Louis.
Jack is actively involved in a variety of volunteer organizations.He is on the Board and Investment Committee of Our Lady’s Inn.He is a Board member and past President of both CFA Society of St. Louis and the Notre Dame Club of St. Louis.In the past he has served as an alumni board member for Chaminade College Preparatory and as a member of his parish finance committee.Jack has been recognized as the member of the year by both the Notre Dame Club of St. Louis and CFA Society of St. Louis.In 2018, he was recognized by CFA Institute as one of six global volunteers of the year.

Mehmet Budak, MBA
Mehmet is a Senior Advisor to Sunpointe specializing in direct privates investing and wealth advisory both in the U.S. and International Markets.He is also the Founder of Bessley Capital LLC established in 2010 that makes principal investments into thematic/specialized private funds (AuM $100-400m) and opportunistic direct co-investments across Seeds, Series A/B, Growth Private Equity and Special Situations and Yielding Assets (focus on lower middle market).
Previously, Mehmet was a Senior Advisor with Credit Suisse (Switzerland / 2014-2017), Principal of CoastEdge LLC (Investment Office in the U.S. / 2012-2014), Principal of TFO Investments (Investment Office in the Middle East / 2010-2011), Head of EMEA of Marathon Asset Management (2007-2009), U.S. Buyout Investment Executive with The Carlyle Group (2003-2007), and Investment Banker with Goldman Sachs (2001-2003).
Mehmet received his M.B.A from the Wharton School and B.S. from the United States Military Academy (West Point).
Vaibhav is an analyst at Sunpointe Investments. He has over five years of work experience with Goldman Sachs where most recently, he helped manage the Interest Rate Products business. He is currently pursuing his MBA from Washington University’sOlin Business School, is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science – Pilani, India.
Corey Wangler, MS, MBA
Corey is a Principal at Sunpointe Investments. He works with both family offices and foundations on investment policy creation, asset allocation, and investment manager selection. Corey was formerly a Principal Consultant at Mercer, where he advised on $1.8 billion in assets during his five year tenure. Prior to joining Mercer, he served three years as a financial analyst in the commercial division of Firstbank.Corey graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Business Administration from Alma College. He holds an MBA from Central Michigan University and an MS in Finance from the University of Colorado, a CFA Institute recognized program. Corey has served as a board member for Junior Achievement and is an active participant in the Michigan Warriors Program benefitting disabled veterans.
Angela Dowson Pompian, MBA
Angela runs business operations and accounting at Sunpointe.Angela worked most recently as an operations and strategy consultant to the pharmaceutical industry.Prior to that, she was a marketing executive for Pfizer and then Johnson & Johnson in various US and globally based positions. She earned her BA from McGill University in Montreal, and her MBA in International Business and Marketing from Columbia Business School in New York.
Paul has a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Dayton, and is an expert in data reporting and analysis.He currently leads the data integration and performance reporting business at Sunpointe, and maintains lead responsibility for Addepar systems for all of our clients. Paul is currently pursuing Level 3 of the CFA program.
